Thank you for visiting Catz Jazz Feline Rescue, Refuge & Home Placement
We are an all-volunteer Texas based companion cat rescue organization located just outside of Austin, Tx.
Our founder, Cathy Taylor, established the CatzJazz no-kill non-profit organization with a mission to provide safety, shelter, veterinary care, medical rehabilitation and socialization for abandoned or abused cats until good permanent homes can be found for them.
We do not maintain a paid staff; our foster, resource and support network are funded exclusively through donations.
Adoption days are at Lakeline PETsMART every Sat/Sun from 12-5pm, and we also set up appointments to bring cats available for adoption to a prospective adopters' home for a visit, up to 50 miles from our home base for adoptions.

Neville is one of the permanent special needs cats in the care of our director, Cathy. Neville is a sleek, black cat who came to us the summer of 2008 and was one of a band of 4 brothers that were lucky to be saved from the pound when they were just weeks old. The boys were raised by loving foster parents and were all a charming bunch of boys, but Neville was sickly, and though a very good natured kitty, he was never adopted out due to having had the unfortunate bad luck to contract Herpes virus while he was out on the streets trying to survive before our group was notified of his predicament. By the time he got to us and we were able to get him off the streets and to the vet, he was in pretty bad shape. In addition to URI, he was flea infested and intestinal parisites were robbing him of what little nutrition he was able to find and he had also contracted ringworm. All of these conditions were treatable with only the Herpes virus a lingering issue.
While up for adoption, Neville suffered from chronic URI from being at the pound too long and he had contracted the virus there which is always a huge risk for all cats/kittens brought in there as is the case with any pound situation. Our director, Cathy decided after all the time spent with him and him not being adopted, that she would just make him a permanent and welcome part of her family as Neville has become quite bonded to her. His favourite spot seems to be laying on her chest especailly after she has been away a good portion of the day attending to cat related needs elsewhere. Other than the occassional gnarly sneezes with bloody snot being hurled thru space, today, Neville is a happy and healthy fellow with ocassional flare-ups from the Herpes virus which usually are brought on by stress. This is why he is one of our special needs cats as we need to make sure he gets medication when these episodes occur. He is a very lucky boy, and we will continue to care for him and provide him medication and love and hope you will consider donating to help us continue our work for cats like Neville.
