CatzJazz Feline Rescue

Thank you for visiting Catz Jazz Feline Rescue, Refuge & Home Placement.
We are an all-volunteer, Texas-based companion cat rescue organization located just outside of Austin, Tx. Our founder, Cathy Taylor, established the CatzJazz no-kill non-profit organization with a mission to provide safety, shelter, veterinary care, medical rehabilitation and socialization for abandoned or abused cats until good permanent homes can be found for them. We do not maintain a paid staff; our foster, resource and support network are funded exclusively through donations. Adoption days are at Lakeline PETsMART every Sat/Sun from 12-5pm, and we also set up appointments to bring cats available for adoption to prospective adopters' homes for a visit, up to 50 miles from our home base for adoptions. Call or e-mail us for more information. Phone: 512-636-8473 Make a donation with PayPal - it's fast and secure!

UPDATE: July 1st, 2009
We appreciate all the response/applications received on behalf of the rescued Schnauzers/Schnoodles and are happy to report that the 10 wonderful dogs we had been given responsibility for have all been adopted into loving family homes! We feel they will be cherished members of their new forever families and will soon form bonds as the nightmare that was once their existence will hopefully soon fade from their memories as fun, joy, love and laughter fill their lives! We sincerely appreciate all who supported us during this urgent crisis.

Cat Jazz is assisting in the urgent rescue operation of 87 Schnauzers and Schnauzer-Poodle mixes recovered from a Bastrop County home on June 4th, 2009 where they were found living in feces two inches deep inside some parts of the house. An animal control officer has stated the home did not have air conditioning and that she witnessed dogs covered with bugs and worms in a garage with no window. Bastrop animal shelter is over capacity and asking for help in rehoming the recovered dogs and is in urgent need of good foster or forever homes for them. The 87 miniature Schnauzers and schnauzer-poodle mixes (Schnoodles) have been cleaned up and given flea and worm treatments and necessary shots. If you would like to help please contact us by calling Catz Jazz at 512-636-8473, or you can email us at kitty@catzjazz.org or contact the Bastrop County Animal Shelter at 512-581-4080. This is an urgent situation and any assistance is greatly appreciated. If you are unable to adopt one of these dogs into your home but want to help, please consider making a donation as funds are desperately needed to help with rescue effort expenses. We will be listing some of the rescued Schnauzers on this page, please help spread the word!
Thank you so much for your support of our rescue operations. Your assistance is greatly appreciated and helps us put a stop to animal abuse. - Catz Jazz
