CatzJazz Feline Rescue

Thank you for visiting Catz Jazz Feline Rescue, Refuge & Home Placement.
We are an all-volunteer, Texas-based companion cat rescue organization located just outside of Austin, Tx. Our founder, Cathy Taylor, established the CatzJazz no-kill non-profit organization with a mission to provide safety, shelter, veterinary care, medical rehabilitation and socialization for abandoned or abused cats until good permanent homes can be found for them. We do not maintain a paid staff; our foster, resource and support network are funded exclusively through donations. Adoption days are at Lakeline PETsMART every Sat/Sun from 12-5pm, and we also set up appointments to bring cats available for adoption to prospective adopters' homes for a visit, up to 50 miles from our home base for adoptions. Call or e-mail us for more information. Phone: 512-636-8473 Make a donation with PayPal - it's fast and secure!

SPONSOR A SPECIAL NEEDS CAT

Love knows no limitations.

Although all of the cats we rescue are special, some have special needs that require a little extra TLC, a bit more energy and a higher financial expense. But that doesn't make them any less desirable.
All cats are great life teachers, but living with Special Needs Cats have taught us one of the most important lessons in life:
appreciate the little things and this moment now.
Special Needs Cats have a meaningful place in the lives of humans because they teach us that love has no limitations. They demonstrate the unique ability cats have to overcome what we humans would consider as "disabilities," and handle diseases and physical and emotional setbacks with amazing resilience and acceptance; certainly, lessons we can all benefit from.

Medical costs are sometimes high for Special Needs Cats, and your loving sponsorship helps us to continue providing the best care available to help treat the cats that need that extra attention. Sometimes there are cats with diabetes, heart disease, tissue scarring, eye problems and other forms of physical setbacks and there may even be cats that we know their lives may be cut short by their conditions, but considering our own experiences with Special Needs Cats, like our permanent residents Blinky, a blinded cat rescued during a dog fighting ring raid and Seal, a paralyzed cat rescued after a hit and run and now uses a mobility cart to get around, and other special needs friends we have, we know that every day they are with us is a gift. Through it all these cats have remained loving and spirited and we consider ourselves lucky to know them and that makes it all worthwhile. Special Needs Cats are a testament to the courage and strength exhibited by these wonderful animals.

Cats with disabilities are often lost among the many adoptable healthy ones.

On this page we will be featuring cats who in spite of their handicap, want to survive so they can enjoy life with human help.
Sometimes in addition to physical handicaps there might be cats with emotional problems due to trauma, abuse or lack of socialisation with humans. But these cats can be rehabilitated with time and love and in showing them that they will never be harmed again. These wonderful cats are in need of special humans who can help them with their particular needs.
If you are here because you would like to make a difference to a special cat needing assistance and help us give them a better quality of life, we would be very grateful for your help. If you are one of the exceptional people who can find a place in their hearts and homes for a Special Needs Cat and want to join the ranks of the world's most wonderful people coming to the aid of a disabled cat by fostering or adopting, please contact us to see if we have any Special Needs Cats currently in need of a temporary or permanent home.

If you are considering adoption of a Special Needs Cat to welcome into a stable, loving home, we would like to extend our gratitude and hope to match you with the right special friend. Remember, there is a person for every special cat in need, and there is a special cat for every person who wants to give them a better life. It is just a matter of finding each other in time!

If you are unable to share your home with a Special Needs Cat, you can still derive priceless rewards by sponsoring one in our care. We sometimes have special cats here that could benefit greatly from one-time or monthly donations by you. Sometimes there are cats with special conditions or diseases that are expensive to treat but are worth the additional assistance! Your one-time or monthly donations will go towards paying for medications, veterinary treatment, supplies and prescription food these cats need to maintain a quality life! Whether you sponsor a specific cat, or are able to donate a general Medical Bill Sponsorship that goes to the cats needing it the most, as a sponsor, and with your permission, we will send you updates about your sponsored cat and let you know how they are doing or keep you updated on how medical treatment in general is going for the ones with the most need. We will also list you as a sponsor on our website. What a wonderful way to make a difference in the life of a cat in need. If you are interested in sponsoring with a Medical Bill Sponsorship, or can make a one-time donation right now of any amount, we would be very grateful as every bit counts towards providing the care necessary to improve the lives of neglected and abused animals.

All donations are tax-exempt, we are a registered 501(c) (3) charity recognized by the IRS. We do not have paid staff; all administrative duties and hands-on work are performed by volunteers. Expenses incurred for our volunteers to fulfill administrative activities like fund raising, public relations, marketing, website and hosting services as well as hands-on work such as transporting animals, promoting animal welfare, fostering and 24 hour care are funded out of pocket by each volunteer. Every dollar contributed to Catz Jazz Rescue is applied directly in fulfilling our mission statement – to provide safety, shelter, veterinary care, medical rehabilitation and socialization for abandoned or abused cats (and sometimes dogs) until good permanent homes can be found for them. We cannot be a success without the encouragement of compassionate people who are committed to providing financial assistance and support to help us continue our work.
